Annie Murphy, meanwhile, quipped in April 2021: "I mean, I've been sending Dan [Levy] $5 a day in the mail as a bribe." The actor continued, "So far I have not heard back about a movie officially. But, oh, my God, I would be just over the moon if that ever came to pass because I miss everyone so much every day. Just to see Moira again, I would pay a lot of money to do that," (via Us Weekly).
During a 2023 interview on Britain's "This Morning" breakfast show (via Express), Eugene Levy clarified that it's all down to his son's vision for the show. He explained, "It really depends on the idea of what it is because whatever it is, it has to elevate itself from the point where we left off to the point where we're gonna pick up, you know." Dan Levy himself confirmed as such after "Schitt's Creek" ended.
As he told People, "I think it just comes down to making sure that it's the right story to tell. And I think we're also proud of the work we did on 'Schitt's.' And when you end on such a high, it really forces you to think very carefully about what the next step is." The writer and actor did note, though, that it's not hopeless, ultimately describing the situation as: "TBD with an exclamation mark on the end."
