Kamada Ekadashi 2022: Date, Time, Rituals and Significance

Shukla Chaitra Kamada Ekadashi is the name given to Paksha Ekadashi. After Chaitra Navrati and Rama Navami, it is the following Ekadashi. In the English calendar, it is currently in the months of March or April. This ekadashi, like all other Hindu ekadashis, is observed to honour Sri Krishna, a manifestation of Lord Vishnu. Kamada Ekadashi is also known as ‘Chaitra Shukla Ekadashi’ because it happens after the Navratri celebrations.

Because the word ‘kamada’ means ‘fulfilment of desires,’ Kamada Ekadashi is seen to be a spiritual observance that satisfies all worldly desires. This ekadashi is observed all around India, but mainly in certain parts of Southern India, such as Bangalore.
