In pictures: The Ram Setu mahurat shot in Ayodhya

Akshay Kumar and his leading ladies for Ram Setu, Jaqueline Fernandez and Nushrrat Barucha had set out for Ayodhya yesterday to kickstart the shoot for Ram Setu which is based on the mythological Ram Setu bridge from the Ramayana. Kumar had also shared images of the three of them before their private jet took off.



On Wednesday, Amazon Prime Video had announced that they would be co-producing the movie along with Abundantia Entertainment, Lyca Productions and Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films. Kumar had shared an image of the mahurat pooja. He was also accompanied by his director, Abhishek Sharma. "आज श्री अयोध्या जी में फ़िल्म  "रामसेतु" के शुभारंभ पर भगवान श्री राम का आशीर्वाद प्राप्त हुआ। जय श्री राम!" Kumar had shared after the puja, along with a picture.

According to media reports, Kumar will be playing the role of an archaeologist who'll be investigating the long chain of shoals between India and Sri Lanka which is called the Ram Setu bridge.
