Speaking to UK publication Influx, Anstead credits the force with making him into the man he is today. "I can honestly say, it's the best decision I have ever made. I loved being in the police," he remembered, crediting his time there with helping him to mature quicker. It prepared him for a life on TV, too, as Anstead reasons, "When you're standing in-front of someone armed — that's real fear — it kind of makes standing on stage or in front of a camera easy. I always remind myself of that, and how lucky I am to being doing what I do."
Anstead left the police following the birth of his daughter, whom he shares, along with his son, with first wife Louise. Christina's kids, meanwhile, can't get enough of their new stepfather. "My kids love him," she gushed to People, noting her two song particularly enjoy "doing boy stuff" with Anstead while daughter Taylor encouraged her to marry him even while the car enthusiast's divorce was still being finalized. They all settled down as one big happy family in the couple's new $4.1 million home, which they purchased in 2018 according to The OC Register.
