Deepika Padukone Praises Her Father And Husband In A New Video

Actor Deepika Padukone has participated in a campaign launched by the National Commission for Women called Men for Women. The official Twitter handle of the statutory body shared a video of the actor where she speaks about her father, legendary badminton player Prakash Padukone and her husband, actor Ranveer Singh. The Padmaavat actress goes on to share how the two main men in her life have supported her in her endeavours and that men need to support the campaign for gender equality.
"I have been extremely fortunate to have received a lot of love from my father, and now, husband. Throughout my life, and in various aspects of my life. So let us not forget that men play an equally important role in empowering women," Padukone says in the video. "Thank you @deepikapadukone for supporting our campaign #MenforWomen! Men play an equally important role in women empowerment. Through this campaign, NCW aims to make men a part of the movement for #genderequality," the NCW wrote in their caption.
Padukone has been vocal about her father's support in her life and has also called him the "greatest off-screen hero" she could have ever had. Meanwhile, the actress got married to Singh in a private ceremony in 2018. The couple held receptions in Bengaluru and Mumbai after.
