Professional Background
Dr. Andreas Schmid is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Before becoming a physician, Dr. Schmid studied architecture at the Swiss Technical University in Zürich, Switzerland. Soon after, he enrolled and completed medical school and residency in Internal Medicine at several Swiss hospitals including the University of Basel.
In 2003, Dr. Schmid moved to Florida and completed Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship training, and Internal Medicine Residency, at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida.
Since 2018, he works at the University of Kansas Medical Center where he is active in the ICU, inpatient consult and the outpatient clinic setting. He has a clinical interest in Non-CF bronchiectasis, and non-tuberculous mycobacteria.
